Oct 13 2009     Change is in the wind…

For the last two months I have been working on a professional contract to develop some software for a local small business. During this time I have been developing in C# using my copy of Visual Studio. I am almost finished with the professional project and it dawned on me how easy it was for me to do everything I needed to do and in a timely manner.

What crossed my mind is, “Why do I consider this current contract a professional application and my BoS project a side hobby?” Well no more! I have already started using Visual Studio to create the BoS application and in one afternoon I was able to catch up to my Java version which had taken me so long to make. Although the BoS project will no longer be designed to be cross platformed by design, Linux, BSD, Solaris and Mac OS X users should be able to use wine to run the application.

Well, here we go into the future my friends, and here is to a new beginning.

~raises his glass of Mountain Dew….yes, in an actual crystal glass, we are going all fancy~

[EDIT]

As it turns out I may be able to utilize a project called MonoDevelop which uses GTK to run .NET programming code natively on Linux.

May 26 2009     Where have I been?
by Snow Wolf | 7 Views | Rating: (0 rates)
For those of you wondering what is taking so long or why I have not been making updates on the website. As you may, or may not, know I am in college at the moment. This Wednesday is my very last class before graduation. I have been studying for the past month or so because my Calculus class is very difficult. Hopefully I will pass the final this Wednesday and all will be well. Either way I should be getting back to work on the BoS project next week, while taking breaks to job hunt.
Apr 15 2009     We have Spell Checking
by Snow Wolf | 9 Views | Rating: (0 rates)

It has taken many, many hours and many sodas to finally bring the Book of Shadows project a functioning spell checker. The great thing is that this spell checker is reusable so it can be used on many different projects. Luckily this issue will never burden our software development again.
