For the last two months I have been working on a professional contract to develop some software for a local small business. During this time I have been developing in C# using my copy of Visual Studio. I am almost finished with the professional project and it dawned on me how easy it was for me to do everything I needed to do and in a timely manner.
What crossed my mind is, “Why do I consider this current contract a professional application and my BoS project a side hobby?” Well no more! I have already started using Visual Studio to create the BoS application and in one afternoon I was able to catch up to my Java version which had taken me so long to make. Although the BoS project will no longer be designed to be cross platformed by design, Linux, BSD, Solaris and Mac OS X users should be able to use
wine to run the application.
Well, here we go into the future my friends, and here is to a new beginning.

As it turns out I may be able to utilize a project called
MonoDevelop which uses GTK to run .NET programming code natively on Linux.
